Overview

We want you to be satisfied with your MJP Audio Designs purchase. This policy outlines the return and refund process for our products.

Return Window

Standard Return Period

  • Hardware Products: 30 days from delivery date
  • Accessories: 30 days from delivery date
  • Software/Firmware: No returns (digital products), but we offer technical support

Extended Return Period (Promotional)

Occasionally offered during special promotions (terms specified at time of purchase).

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for a return, items must meet ALL of these conditions:

Condition Requirements

  • Unused/Like New: Product must be in original condition with minimal signs of use
  • Complete: All original accessories, cables, documentation, and packaging included
  • Functional: Product must be in working order (unless returning for defect)
  • Undamaged: No physical damage, modifications, or unauthorized repairs

Documentation Requirements

  • Proof of Purchase: Original order number or receipt
  • RMA Number: Return Merchandise Authorization (obtained from us before shipping back)

Non-Returnable Items

The following cannot be returned:

  • Custom/Made-to-Order: Items built to your specifications
  • Opened Software: Downloaded software or firmware (already delivered digitally)
  • Promotional Items: Free items or gifts with purchase
  • Final Sale: Items marked “final sale” or purchased during clearance

Return Process

Step 1: Contact Us

Email hello@mjpaudiodesigns.com with:

  • Order number
  • Product name/model
  • Reason for return (defect, not as expected, changed mind, etc.)
  • Photos if returning for defect or damage

We’ll respond within 1-2 business days.

Step 2: Receive RMA Number

If approved, we’ll provide:

  • RMA Number: Write this clearly on the outside of the package
  • Return Address: Where to ship the item
  • Instructions: Specific requirements for your return

Do not ship items back without an RMA number. Unauthorized returns will be refused.

Step 3: Ship the Item

  • Pack securely in original packaging (or equivalent protection)
  • Include all accessories and documentation
  • Use a trackable shipping method with insurance
  • You pay return shipping costs (unless item is defective or we made an error)

Step 4: Inspection & Refund

Once we receive your return:

  1. Inspection: We’ll inspect within 3-5 business days
  2. Notification: You’ll receive email confirmation of inspection results
  3. Refund Processing: If approved, refund issued within 5-7 business days

Refund Details

The following refund terms apply to returns made within the Standard Return Period (30 days from delivery).

What Gets Refunded

  • Product Price: Full product cost (minus restocking fee if applicable)
  • Original Shipping: Only refunded if item is defective or we made an error

What Doesn’t Get Refunded

  • Return Shipping: You pay to ship items back (unless defect/our error)
  • Customs/Duties: Paid to your country’s customs (not refundable by us)
  • Restocking Fee: 10% restocking fee applies for “changed mind” returns in like-new condition

No Restocking Fee For

  • Defective Products: Manufacturing defects covered by warranty
  • Our Errors: Wrong item shipped, missing parts, damaged in transit (our packaging fault)
  • DOA (Dead on Arrival): Product doesn’t work out of box

Refund Method

Refunds are issued to your original payment method:

  • Credit/Debit Card: 5-10 business days (depends on your bank)
  • PayPal: 3-5 business days
  • Other Methods: Timeline varies by provider

Note: The refund timeline starts after we process the return, not when you ship it.

Defective Products

Manufacturing Defects

If your product has a manufacturing defect within the warranty period:

  1. Contact us with description and photos/video
  2. We’ll troubleshoot to confirm defect
  3. Options provided:
    • Repair: We’ll repair and return (free shipping both ways)
    • Replacement: We’ll send a new unit (free shipping both ways)
    • Refund: Full refund including original shipping

Damage During Shipping

If product arrives damaged:

  1. Note damage on delivery receipt immediately
  2. Photograph box and product
  3. Contact us within 48 hours
  4. We’ll handle carrier insurance claim
  5. Replacement or refund provided (your choice)

User Damage / Misuse

Damage caused by misuse, accidents, or unauthorized modifications is NOT covered by warranty or return policy. Repairs available at cost (contact us for quote).

Exchanges

We don’t offer direct exchanges. To exchange for a different product:

  1. Return the original item (follow return process above)
  2. Place a new order for the desired product

Exception: Defective products can be directly exchanged for the same model.

International Returns

Additional Considerations

  • Customs Duties: You paid customs when importing; we cannot refund these
  • Return Customs: You may owe customs fees when shipping back (country-dependent)
  • Shipping Costs: International return shipping is expensive; get a quote first
  • Proof of Export: Save customs documentation from return shipment

Recommended for International

Before returning internationally:

  1. Contact us to troubleshoot (may resolve issue remotely)
  2. Get return shipping quote (may not be cost-effective)
  3. Consider selling locally as alternative

Warranty Service

Within Warranty Period

  • Constellation Hardware: 3 months from delivery date
  • Accessories: 30 days from delivery date

Warranty repairs/replacements are free (including shipping both ways).

Out of Warranty

Repairs available at cost. Contact hello@mjpaudiodesigns.com for quote.

Special Situations

Changed Mind / Buyer’s Remorse

  • Within 30 days: Return accepted (10% restocking fee applies)
  • Item condition: Must be like-new with all original packaging
  • You pay: Return shipping + restocking fee

Wrong Item Ordered

If you ordered the wrong product by mistake:

  • Same as “changed mind” policy above
  • Before opening: Contact us immediately to change order (if not yet shipped)

Missing Accessories

If you received a product but something is missing:

  • Contact us within 7 days
  • We’ll ship missing items at no cost
  • No need to return the product

Lost in Transit

If tracking shows delivered but you never received it:

  • Report to us within 7 days
  • We’ll investigate with the carrier and file any necessary insurance claims

Cancellations

Before Shipment

  • Full Refund: Contact us immediately to cancel (no fees)

After Shipment

  • No Cancellation: Use return policy once you receive the item
  • Alternative: Refuse delivery (you’ll pay return shipping + restocking fee)
